It is officially fall so check the weather each day. We may have a mist of rain during our recess time so bring a light rain jacket.  

It was a wonderful first day of fall!  In the morning, we continued with reading comprehension for our novel, The Hundred Dresses. We also identify the important elements of a Super Sentence. During our study of Michigan today we learned what defines "a state" and the features that are unique to Michigan.  Please ask your child about the work we did with writing complete sentences.  They are becoming experts! In the afternoon our co-curriculars were gym/swim and engage.  

Please make sure your child has headphones or earbuds at school to use throughout the whole year! Students will keep these at school. 

Please make sure you child has his/her planner everyday in their binder.  We write in these daily at school.

Please ask your child to share with you the Xtramath letter that was sent home on Friday.  We will be using Xtramath this year as a tool to help us grow our fact fluency.  Please enroll your student into Xtramath by Tuesday.  Many students are enrolled.  Have them take the practice test with Mr. C.

Friends and Family Letter:  

Students can bring in 1-2 pictures for our friends and family board over the next few weeks!  

-Your child will keep the planner in the blue taken home folder that  lives in the binder .  This is a temporary planner, and we expect our new ones to arrive soon.  Please ask your child to show you his/her planner daily.  You can initial it to show us that you have read it and understand the expectations for that day.
