The past two days we have taken many notes on fractions and decimals.  We are very focused on how to read and write decimals as well as converting between the two.  Your child's homework is to teach you what we learned before Friday.  Please have them show you the examples we did and let them teach you anything they have learned about this topic.

Virtual Science Experiment with Team of Scientists Updated Supply List:

We will be experimenting virtually with a team of scientists tomorrow, Friday, May 14 at 11:15am.  We want to thank Laura Lamb for taking the time to organize this exciting and fun opportunity.  If your child would like to do the actual experiment at home in conjunction with the presentation, your child will need to have these supplies on hand for the experiment:

Here is a material list:

 

  • Round small shallow lid (from Pringles, tennis ball can, small sour cream, etc.  
  • Two small plastic cups 
  • Elmer's glue
  • Measuring spoons  (tablespoon and teaspoon)
  • Water 
  • Popsicle stick 
  • Food coloring 
  • Liquid dish detergent 
  • Toothpick

             

 

Since we will be livestreaming the experiment, if a student is unable to get supplies they can still watch.

 

The team of scientists will begin with an overall view of what a working lab looks like before starting the experiment.
