Friday is PJ DAY!  Come to school comfy and cozy!


Tomorrow is the last chance to get the BCS Community Cookbook in time for the holidays! Please complete and return the form below with payment tomorrow and it will be delivered before the end of the day.



Important things to know:
-We are piloting a new ONLINE CHOICE HOUR SIGN UP for 3/4 Only! Students/{Parents can now sign up for choice hour using an online form. Please tell your class this and encourage them to try it out! There are instructions on the front of the selection sheet and parents received an eblast. 

-The forms are due Friday January 4 by 4pm but they are highly encouraged to get turning them in or if the way before break!

-QIII runs from Jan 28-April 12

-eFunds/Electronic payment is now available for Choice Hour - they will want to tell their parents this!

TOY DRIVE: Don't worry if you missed Friday's deadline! 

We will continue to collect toys this week too!

Send in your donation this week and it will be delivered to Beaumont Hospital along with the cards and gingerbread that the student will be making at their Holiday party on Friday!

The Battle of The Books 2018 is underway for our 4th graders!  All 6 books are available to check out in the Media Center, and public libraries around the district. 

The 2019 Battle of the Books Titles are:
 - Astrotwins: Project Blastoff by Mark Kelly
- Freakling by Lana Krumwiede
- Nooks and Crannies by Jessica Lawson
- Towers Falling by Jewell Parker Rhodes
- Story Thieves by James Riley
- Zoe in Wonderland by Brenda Woods

We will get new words in January!
Access www.spellingcity.com (from this blog) Login.
 Your child will know their spelling sort as it is indicated on the assignment letter.
 Please read the letter and follow the directions. Locate your sort on spellingcity.com by clicking the red drop-down arrow for your spelling sort. Play the games under the tabs to help you learn the spelling patterns for these words. You can check which word study activities you have completed by clicking on ‘My Records’ after you log in.
Remember – DO NOT click theTestMe options on spellingcity.org. Save that button for the day of your test. (You can do the Spelling and Vocabulary Practice Tests though.)
     Have a parent initial each night at the bottom of the planner to show that they have done their daily required reading. You do not need to write the number of minutes or book title in the planner.


Reading:  
3rd: 20 mins daily
4th: 30 mins daily
Students - Please bring in a chapter book from home to read in class




3rd Grade Math:
Get test signed by a parent and return 
Xtra Math-3 ROUNDS
Compass Math:  10 minutes


**Xtramath practice 3 times per week (any day you choose) Complete a full work session, which lasts about 5-10 mins (until Mr. C says you are done!)
