Explore the Arts and Express Yourself
Reflect on the theme, HEROES AROUND ME, and create original art in the categories of dance, film production, literature, music, photography and visual arts. Enter to win recognition, prizes, and scholarships.  The top 2 BCS entries from each category will go on to the BPS District Program and possibly State and/or National recognition. Participants will be recognized/awarded at the BCS Reflections Pizza Lunch. Click for more Reflections information or Download student packet. Submit entries through Friday, November 9th in the Media Center. To volunteer or for questions, contact Diana Patterson at d4patter4@sbcglobal.net.

Goal Setting: Due Friday (November 2) 

  Language Arts
Have a parent initial each night at the bottom of the planner to show that they have done their daily required reading. You do not need to write the number of minutes or book title in the planner.

ASK YOUR CHILD ABOUT THE PARTS OF A COMPLETE SENTENCE!  We have been practicing writing our best complete sentences with subjects, predicates, capital letters and punctuation!

3rd: 
20 mins daily
4th: 30 mins daily

Students - Please bring in a chapter book from home to read in class

Friends and Family: If you would like, bring in 1-2 pictures of friends, family members or a pet to hang on our friends and family board!

3rd Grade Math:


Study JP 87-88 for 15 minutes
Signed and Completed Review due tomorrow! (The review was sent home on Wednesday.)
Test tomorrow-unit 1
Online Quiz due Monday (some students finished this in class)
Xtra Math!!!
Quick Quiz # 3 is coming home today in the blue take hine folder. 

**Have a parent write their email address in your planner on page 1 for xtramath access.  

Xtramath practice 3 times per week (any day you choose) Complete a full work session, which lasts about 5-10 mins (until Mr. C says you are done!)

*Have 3 sharpened pencils every day.
*Bring a water bottle and two healthy snacks every day.

Image result for teamwork poster for kidsHalloween (Oct. 31st) is a 1/2 day (11:30am dismissal) and the classroom Halloween party! The parade of costumes will starAt around 10:10am outside, unless raining, with the 3/4 classes. Followed by the class party around 10:30am in the Science Lab in the 100 hall.  Party will end at 11:15 am with dismissal from school at 11:30 am.  A HUGE Thank You to all the parents that have volunteered to help make this party awesome!  
Costume guidelines for Halloween-
 — No masks that cover the face
 — no blood-like makeup, no weapons, no evil, scary, or horror characters
