Today we started our school "community read".  We got to meet the author, Gordon Korman, and we also met the main character of the book, Chase.  Ask your child to share with you a chapter 1 summary!

This is a wonderful schoolwide opportunity for us to enjoy a book as an entire school community.  Our generous PTA donates one book per family.  These books will be distributed on Monday in class and will be read in class.  The oldest child in each family will receive ONE book.  This means that not every child in our classroom will have a book.  If you have an older child in school, your younger child in my room will not have a book.  If you would like to purchase an extra for your student to use in class when we are reading, we will be using the book "Restart" by Gordon Korman.  If you would like to order one for your child to have in class or to donate some, Amazon has a great price!!
