Friendly Letter to New BCS Student due Tuesday, February 2nd (Date Assigned January 20, 2021)

We brainstormed in class and recorded ideas in our writer's notebook.
You will write a letter to a student who will start at BCS next September. You don’t know the person to whom you are writing. You can address it as “Dear Friend” or “Dear Future BCS Student”.
Think about how you were feeling when you started at BCS.
Write a letter that explains what life is like at BCS and why they will love attending our school.
Write the letter on lined paper or type it. You could even add illustrations to it or clip art!
You will want to create a new document for your letter if you choose to type.
Please print your letter at home and bring to school for your teacher by February 2.
Currently we are focused on Text Features and nonfiction text.
Word Study:
Word Study was assigned today! Please ask your child to share his/her words with you and the assignment that is due by February 10th. Once your child has completed all of the assignments, he/she is ready to take the test online. Feel free to practice with your child first! Remember, we are focused on patterns of spelling and how we use them across our language as well as vocabulary. There is so much to learn about words in our language!
