BCS has put together a hurricane relief effort with two options to show our support. We are asking for your support in one of two ways (or both) for our neighbors down south in Florida Texas. What’s the prize for all who participate? It’s the intrinsic reward of feeling great that you helped out these victims in a powerfully important way! What the prize for the winning “TEAM” (3/4 or 5/6 or 7/8)? A pizza party! Check out the flyer with all the details.
1. FIRST BOOK –ESSENTIALS FOR KIDS: In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, First Books—in conjunction with local Texas literacy groups—created the Hurricane Harvey relief campaign. To that end, BCS has created a donations page for those who are interested in giving a financial donation on behalf of our community: https://support.firstbook.org/bcs4houston. Click on the BCS hurricane relief flyer for all the details.
2. FILL A BUCKET FOR DRAW: “DRAW (Disaster Relief At Work, Inc.) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 dedicated to providing relief services to communities that have been hit by natural disasters. BCS is helping to put together cleaning buckets to help those in need by collecting supplies, especially those who are victims of flooding. Click on the BCS hurricane relief flyer for all the details on items we are collecting. Donations may be dropped off outside the BCS office from Wednesday, September 13 through Friday, September 22. If you would like to donate to DRAW online visit: http://drawbuckets.org/donate/.
The BCS community thanks you in advance for your support of these needed efforts for our neighbors down South. For questions, contact our BCS Community School Organizer, Cindy Balicki at cbalicki@birmingham.k12.mi.us.
Have a great night!
