Did you know?    Chinese New Year festival period lasts for 16 days, starting from Chinese New Year's eve to the Lantern Festival. In 2021, it is from February 11 to February 26th.  We enjoyed learning about the Lunar New Year and celebrating today by making our own lanterns!

Language Arts:  

We took our text features test today.  We will use our skills to write our own informational nonfiction books.  Students have lots of notes to guide them in incorporating these features into their own books.  

Sarah Plain and Tall packets and books are due!  We took the test and it was open book.  IF YOU HAVE NOT TURNED YOUR BOOK OR PACKET, PLEASE DO SO THIS WEEK!


Word Study:  

Our Word Study assignment is due March 12.  Your child should have the new word study written in his/her planner.   Your child should complete two activities from each of the three categories (phonics, vocabulary, spelling) and then complete the three tests for those sections.  Ask your child about his/her word list.  


3rd Grade Math:

4th Grade Math:

Today we started learning about the difference between factors and multiples.  This can be very confusing!  Please ask your child to share his/her notes with you from today's class and teach you what they understand thus far about this concept.

Quick Quiz #1 (inside the Unit 4 folder) is due tomorrow (Thursday)

Social Studies:  

We are currently studying map skills.  Soon we will learn more about the first people to settle in the United States. 


Science:  

We are studying the scientific method, structures of life, animal adaptations, energy, motion and matter, and so much more.
