Battle of the Books Updates (4th and 5th graders):
If you ordered a Battle Bundle, you were invited to pick up your bundle at BCS on Monday, December 7, from 12 to 3pm. If you plan to check out a Battle book from BCS, you may place a hold on one Battle book at a time for check out. Holds placed before 3pm on Monday will be available for a special Battle of the Books pickup on Tuesday, December 8, from 9am to 3pm. If you cannot make that pickup time, your books will still be available during our regular Thursday and Friday pickups.
Baldwin Library also has multiple copies of each Battle title, and they even have a curbside pickup option. We are so excited to begin the Battle of the Books and we are looking forward to seeing you on Monday. A special thanks to Baldwin Library for all of their hard work putting this together.

Materials pick up each week will be Thursday from 3-5pm and Friday from 11am-1pm (Friday is the only day they will have Chromebooks available if you haven't yet picked yours up).
Choice Hour Updates:
Choice hour for everyone is from 3:25-4:10pm.
All Choice Hour Quarter II is virtual except for competitive 6-8 sports teams (boys basketball and girls swimming).

Language Arts:
Currently we are focused on Figurative Language. We are working on revising our narratives to add this language in and enjoying the novel, "The Year of the Dog". Ask your child to share with you a summary of what we have read so far! It is such a great book!
Word Study: Word Study assignments and tests were due today!
3rd Grade Math:
We have a unit 2 test tomorrow. Yesterday we completed a review (JP 155-156) for unit 2 together in class. Students should share this review with you and use it as a study guide. They can also use the journal pages and HR pages as a review for the test as well. Everyone should study for 15+ minutes using their journal pages and HR pages.
Yesterday we took Quick Quiz # 1 in class. Ask your child to share the results with you!
Online Tests were due today (Make sure you practice the 9 facts before you take the quiz!) 😃

We are currently studying map skills. Soon we will learn more about the first people to settle in the United States. The event below would be a nice enrichment for that study.
