Return to School Full Day Hybrid. What should I bring?
***All of these materials should be housed in student backpacks. Think of it like your desk that you take back and forth between home and school.
-Please bring your charged Chromebook along with the charger (This is a request from the district as they are removing our laptops from our classrooms.)
-headphones or earbuds
-all math books
-math challenge folder
-Sarah Plain and Tall book and packet (in a folder)
-Writer’s Notebook
-Map Skills packets #1 and #2 (in a folder)
-Scholastic News editions (in a folder)
-science packets (in a folder)
-chapter books for silent reading time (at least 2 if you read fast)
-social studies soft cover gray workbook
-planner
-cursive book
-ruler
-scissors
-coloring supplies
-Winter jacket, hat, gloves, and anything you need to stay warm outside (we are going outside to play!)

Choice Hour Updates:
Choice hour for everyone is from 3:25-4:10pm.
All Choice Hour Quarter II is virtual except for competitive 6-8 sports teams (boys basketball and girls swimming).

Language Arts:
Turn in Year of the Dog book and completed packet on Monday/Tuesday (Virtual students will turn these in at the drop off on Thursday). Currently we are focused on Figurative Language. We are working on revising our narratives to add enhance our writing with figurative language (hyperbole, personification, simile, alliteration, metaphor, etc.)
Word Study:
Our new Word Study assignment is due on Friday, January 15th. Please have your child show you the assignment online as well as his/her word list. There are 7 activities to complete with your word list plus the test. All should be complete by the due date! Our SAE group is using SAE Sort #2. DRU Group 1 is using DRU Sort #2. DRU Group 2 is using DRU Sort #17.
3rd Grade Math:
Study your facts!
Online test due 1-12-21 This test will include multiplication facts 1-10. You will want to study and study before taking this online fact test. (It will not publish until 1-9-21.)

We are studying the scientific method, structures of life, animal adaptations, energy, motion and matter, and so much more.
