Monday,  November 4- Friday, December 6:
Butzin will be in the pool. (Bring suits and towels Wednesday and Friday.)
Frishman will be in the gym.



BATTLE OF THE BOOKS LAUNCH...

The Battle of the Books reading event is underway, and the six books were revealed! Students who ordered book bundles received their books, and students are able to check out a book from the BCS Media center! Look for a bookmark and a trifold flyer with all the information about the event!  We have chosen to read Lions and Liars by Kate Beasley as our classroom read aloud!



Fall Parent Conference Sign Up

 Conferences are Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21.  Please click on the sign up genius for your homeroom to select a time for parent/teacher conferences.  (You will see the homeroom name above the sign up button.  ) 

Please note:  Only sign up with your child's homeroom teacher.  All math students will be given a conference report during your homeroom conference.




2019-20 PTA REFLECTIONS ART PROGRAM
Reflect on the theme, LOOK WITHIN, and create original art in the categories of dance, film production, literature, music, photography and visual arts. Enter to win recognition, prizes, and scholarships.  The top 2 BCS entries from each category will go on to the BPS District Program and possibly State and/or National recognition. Participants will be recognized/awarded at the BCS Reflections Pizza Lunch. Please initial the planner each day at the bottom to show us that you are aware of what has been assigned!


The blue take home folder is in your child's binder!   Please have your child share these with you.  You will see papers in there throughout the year at random times.  Please prompt your child to bring you those items when they appear!


Ask your child if he/she is leaving class a lot to get a drink of water!  If so, please send your child with a WATER BOTTLE to keep here in class and refill each day!


Today's Homework:

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS PLENTY OF PENCILS INSIDE HIS/HER BINDER!!!  Most students do not have pencils each day and this makes things challenging for them!



***For reading homework, your child is free to read anything as long as it is approved by you!  This includes magazines, newspapers, chapter books, anything!
3rd Grade Reading:  20 or more minutes
4th Grade Reading:  30 or more minutes


Goal Setting: 
Due today with a parent signature!


Word Study:  Your child received work two weeks ago in class.  The word study work is due with your signature TODAY!!!  We took our test in class today and started our new work with our new list!  Our new word study work is due on November 19th and we will take our test that day as well!



3rd Grade Math:
Online Test #3 due MONDAY!!  (focused on 3x/ fact)

Xtra Math

Xtramath:
 3 days per week minimum
Xtramath Enrollment flyers were given out in class to those student still needing to enroll. Please let me know if you need another copy. We will focus on Multiplication using this site. Please ask a parent to follow the directions on the Xtramath flyer.
Parents - If your child used Xtramath in 2nd grade, please enroll them using the code on their letter so that they begin where they left off with previous multiplication practice. If they did not do multiplication yet, this is where they will start



4th Grade Math:
In class today we studied for tomorrow's test!
Online tests #4 due 11/18/19
TEST and SIGNED TEST LETTER are due this Thursday the 7th!!!



Social Studies:
Signed chapter 1 review was due 11/4/19.  We took our test in class today!



Science:
We are exploring Water and Climate!!
We have investigated what happens when water falls on different surfaces (use vocabulary such as drops/beads/absorption) and talked about the effect of slope on water's movement.  We have also seen how much water really does weigh!  We have also talked about what makes something waterproof or water resistant!



Daily Reminders:
*Bring a chapter book.
*Bring a water bottle and two healthy snacks every day.
