The students really enjoyed the Disney Earth day movie today! 

Please ask your child what they learned about the Adelie penguin's adaptations for survival, their habitat and what they found interesting about how this movie was filmed.

🌍 Students Celebrate Earth Week at BCS🌎

 ·         Monday – “Nature Appreciation” Wear Green, Think Green, and Live Green, and 3/4 and 5/6 students will be seeing the new Disney Nature movie, Penguins

·       Tuesday – “Hats off to Earth Day” Wear a Hat and use your thinking cap to learn how you can help protect our earth

·       Wednesday- “Be Bright, Turn out the Lights” Wear bright colors today as a reminder to turn off the lights when not needed or leaving rooms

·       Thursday – “Work as a Team” Wear your favorite team shirt (or a uniform from the team you play on) and help to pick up trash on the playground during recess

   Celebrate Earth Week at BCS...We will be celebrating Earth Week with opportunities and learning experiences throughout the week.  Following are some of the opportunities occurring throughout the week.  The entire school is asked to participate in…

•    collecting eyeglasses to be reused (collection bin will be outside the main office)
•    collecting old markers to be recycled (collection be is outside the media center)
•    Adopt an animal change drive (outside the main office, drop your change in the jar for the animal for whom you’d like to vote)
•    Waste Free Lunches (practice a waste free lunch with reusable containers versus container you throw away or recycle)
•    "Turn You Key – Be Idle Free” (be sure to keep you engine off when awaiting to pick up your child in the loops or parking lot)

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS HEADPHONES OR EARBUDS THAT CAN STAY IN SCHOOL!!!  WE DON'T USE THEM EVERYDAY, BUT IT'S HARD WHEN WE NEED THEM AND THEY AREN'T AROUND!!  THANK YOU!!!

We started our unit on opinion writing.  We are currently learning how to write a thesis statement.

 Your child will know their spelling sort as it is indicated on the assignment letter.

 Please read the letter and follow the directions. Locate your sort on spellingcity.com by clicking the red drop-down arrow for your spelling sort. Play the games under the tabs to help you learn the spelling patterns for these words. You can check which word study activities you have completed by clicking on ‘My Records’ after you log in.

Remember – DO NOT click the TestMe options on spellingcity.org. Save that button for the day of your test. (You can do the Spelling and Vocabulary Practice Tests though.)

     Have a parent initial each night at the bottom of the planner to show that they have done their daily required reading. You do not need to write the number of minutes or book title in the planner.
