THERE ARE NO HALF DAYS THIS WEEK!  HALF DAYS ARE NOVEMBER 19TH AND 20TH NEXT WEEK!!

LAST WEEK YOUR CHILD BROUGHT HOME A FIELD TRIP PERMISSION SLIP!!  It is due on FRIDAY!! 

For the field trip, chaperones were pulled from a hat. We will pull new chaperones for our next trip!  Thank you!


  Lansing Field Trip: Tuesday, November 27
  Students will need to bring a bag lunch labeled with their name for this trip (plastic bag suggested). 
  Students are allowed to bring devices/headphones/books for the bus.  (Students will be responsible for all items.)

   Language Arts
Our first word study assignment of the year went home!!!  Please ask your child for the letter when he/she shows your the assignment.  This is due on Friday, November 30th!


Access www.spellingcity.com (from this blog) Login. 
Your child will know their spelling sort as it is indicated on the assignment letter.
Please read the letter and follow the directions. Locate your sort on spellingcity.com by clicking the red drop-down arrow for your spelling sort.  Play the games under the tabs to help you learn the spelling patterns for these words. 
You can check which word study activities you have completed by clicking on ‘My Records’ after you log in.
Remember – DO NOT click theTestMe options on spellingcity.org. Save that button for the day of your test. (You can do the Spelling and Vocabulary Practice Tests though.)
 

  
Have a parent initial each night at the bottom of the planner to show that they have done their daily required reading. You do not need to write the number of minutes or book title in the planner.

ASK YOUR CHILD ABOUT THE HOMOPHONES WE HAVE BEEN LEARNING!  You can specifically ask about "their, there, they're, you're, and your".  These are hard and we are practicing.  We appreciate your reinforcement at home!

3rd:

Students - Please bring in a chapter book from home to read in class

Friends and Family: If you would like, bring in 1-2 pictures of friends, family members or a pet to hang on our friends and family board!

3rd Grade Math:

Xtra Math-3 ROUNDS
Study 2-6 check sheet 8 for 10 minutes


**Have a parent write their email address in your planner on page 1 for xtramath access.  
Xtramath practice 3 times per week (any day you choose) Complete a full work session, which lasts about 5-10 mins (until Mr. C says you are done!)

*School starts at 8:18 am Students should be in their homeroom seat by this time.

*Have 3 sharpened pencils every day.
*Bring a water bottle and two healthy snacks every day.
*Remember to bring in headphones or earbuds to keep at school
